Job Title Coordinator of Online Student Success
Job Posting Body Job Description:

The Coordinator of Online Student Success is responsible for working with the Director of Online Education to develop and implement success initiatives for online students that result in improvements in completion and retention.


Primary Responsibilities:


Student Success
  • Collaborate with the Director of Online Education to develop and implement strategies for online student success, including degree completion, course success, student retention, student engagement, student satisfaction, and early alert identification and intervention.
  • Design and implement solutions to bridge gaps in access and resources needed for online student success.
  • Execute coordinated student success outreach to online learners based on the student lifecycle.
  • Support current online students and those who have stopped out of the University and wish to return to complete their degree.
  • Ensure online student success initiatives align with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements, including maintaining appropriate documentation and reporting.
Collaboration and Outreach
  • Work with Director of Online Education to support schools and colleges with planning and development of curriculum maps for online programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster online student success, including establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships with faculty, academic advisors, admissions, and others across the University.
  • Represent the department at events, meetings and on University committees, including presentations and tabling at University Open House, Accepted Students Day, Online Connection Days and online recruitment events.
Data and Reporting
  • Analyze student stop-out data to determine trends, barriers, and student needs to help develop programs that will support degree completion candidates.
  • Maintain student group code for online students, generate reports on online enrollments, and regularly share updates about student success initiatives with UAlbany's online community of students, faculty, and staff.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize effectively, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Willingness and ability to take initiative as appropriate.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, extract patterns, and convert these into actionable steps and programmatic suggestions.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in a relevant area, such as online education, academic advising, or student support services.
  • Experience supporting students, especially online and non-traditional student populations.
  • Experience in building community among different groups in university and/or community settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience working with digital learning platforms and technology, such as digital portfolio sites, Learning Management Systems, badging platforms, Slate, etc. is preferred.
Working Environment:
  • Typical office environment.
  • This is an in-person position that requires an on-campus presence.

Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Senior Staff Assistant, SL3, $57,151-60,000.
